Why the From Poverty to Prosperity™ Leadership Summit Is Different
Why the From Poverty to Prosperity™ Leadership Summit Was Created
Across Maryland, leaders are working every day to strengthen our communities.
Government agencies are expanding opportunity. Businesses are creating jobs. Educators are preparing future generations. Workforce professionals are connecting people to careers. Nonprofit organizations are addressing community needs. Public safety leaders are building safer neighborhoods. Philanthropic organizations are investing in long-term solutions.
Each is making a meaningful impact.
Yet many of the challenges we face—poverty, workforce shortages, educational disparities, housing instability, and economic mobility—remain interconnected. No single organization, agency, or sector can solve them alone.
The future of our communities depends on leaders who are willing to move beyond individual efforts and work together.
That is why the From Poverty to Prosperity™ Leadership Summit was created.
A Summit Designed for Action
On Saturday, October 3, 2026, leaders from government, business, education, workforce development, higher education, public safety, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and community organizations will gather in Baltimore County for an implementation-focused leadership experience unlike any other.
This is not a conference designed simply to inspire.
It is designed to mobilize.
Guided by the theme,
Turning Vision into Impact. Impact into Action.
The summit will challenge participants to move beyond identifying problems and begin building practical solutions through collaboration, innovation, and shared leadership.
Because communities are transformed when leaders choose action over intention.
Collaboration Creates Opportunity
The greatest opportunities for change often exist at the intersection of different sectors.
Imagine educators partnering with workforce leaders to strengthen career pathways.
Imagine businesses collaborating with government agencies to expand economic opportunity.
Imagine nonprofit organizations, public safety leaders, higher education, and community organizations working together to address challenges that no one organization can solve alone.
Those aren't just possibilities—they are the purpose of this summit.
Throughout the day, participants will engage in executive leadership sessions, keynote presentations, a Leadership Luncheon & Fireside Chat, and interactive Impact into Action Labs designed to help leaders identify shared priorities, build strategic partnerships, and develop implementation strategies that extend beyond the summit.
From Conversation to Commitment
Many conferences end with great ideas.
The From Poverty to Prosperity™ Leadership Summit is designed to end with commitments.
One of the summit's defining moments will be the launch of the Prosperity Action Partners™ Network—a growing coalition of organizations committed to advancing economic mobility through cross-sector collaboration.
During the closing session, participating organizations will announce their Prosperity Commitments—implementation initiatives they will pursue together following the summit.
These commitments represent more than promises.
They represent a shared commitment to measurable action, stronger partnerships, and lasting community impact.
Investing in Leadership
Leadership development is one of the most important investments we can make in our communities.
Presented by DTD Enterprises, LLC, eligible educators attending the summit may earn up to five (5) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits through DTD Enterprises, LLC's Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE)-approved professional learning program.
By bringing leaders together across sectors while supporting professional growth, the summit creates an opportunity to strengthen both individual leadership capacity and collective community impact.
The Beginning of a Movement
The From Poverty to Prosperity™ Leadership Summit is more than a one-day event.
It is the launch of a broader movement focused on restoring leadership access, strengthening cross-sector partnerships, and advancing economic mobility through measurable implementation.
The relationships formed, commitments announced, and initiatives launched on October 3 will help shape the journey toward the Poverty-to-POWER™ Global Leadership Summit in May 2027, where leaders will continue building collaborative solutions that strengthen communities and expand opportunity.
Every meaningful movement begins with leaders who are willing to think differently.
This summit is where that movement begins.

"For too long, we've gathered to discuss poverty. This summit is about something fundamentally different. We're bringing leaders together to leave with commitments, partnerships, and implementation plans that strengthen pathways to prosperity. Leadership isn't defined by a title. It's defined by the lives we impact, the opportunities we create, the communities we strengthen, and the results we deliver."
